Reza Bukan Finally Speaks Up, Tells the Chronology of Meeting with His Wife Until Marriage

Kapanlagi.com - Not long after being released from prison for drug-related charges, Reza Bukan immediately got married for the second time. This time, the lucky woman is a pastor named Serevina Silaen. Their wedding ceremony was held on Sunday (27/9) in a closed manner.

And now, Reza finally speaks up in front of the media about the chronology of his release and remarriage. As is known, Reza was detained for misusing illegal drugs in 2018. While in prison, he was divorced by his wife, Verena Visca Purnamasari.

"On August 18th, I was released (from prison) through the Covid-19 assimilation program from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The process is that I follow what God provides, God prepares, and carry out what God commands until I am given an extraordinary bonus. The bonus of freedom, the bonus of a wife, being able to meet family, being able to eat extraordinary delicious food, being able to be like this again, that's the bonus," said Reza when met in Tendean, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (29/9/2020).

1. Chronology of Meeting with the Wife

Reza continued to tell the story of his meeting with Serevina when he was still in prison. The 39-year-old comedian candidly admitted that he admired his wife, whom he considered to be very devout in her religion.

"Her story is that she is a shepherd in a church in East Jakarta and often serves at Bethesda Church in Salemba. From there, I personally admire, respect, and idolize this incredibly beautiful woman, who knows her religion, is close to God, and knows God. Finally, I was convinced that she could be the support of my life, so I invited her to marry me," he continued.

It turns out that Serevina has a similar thought. "I also idolize him, believing that Reza has now become a new Reza who has changed, not the old one anymore," Serevina added.

Digging deeper, it was Serevina who asked to be married by Reza after 8 months of knowing each other. Upon receiving the invitation, Reza agreed and promised to marry Serevina after being released from prison.

"Before getting married, I also prayed, 'God, if this is my soulmate and my helper in the future, please give me a sign, I will be free this year,' and I was released, so I have to get married, because I made a promise to God," Reza added.

3. Prison is not a Dumping Ground

Reza has gained many lessons during his time behind bars. However, the main point is that he wants to correct the misconception of people regarding the negative image of being in prison.

"That's why I have to change people's mindset that prison is not a dumping ground, not a terrifying and disgusting place, but rather a place for some people who truly want to change their lives, to recover and rise up, that's where their education is, in prison. It's not just for cases like mine involving drugs, it applies to all cases. We all feel sadness and regret," concluded Reza.
