Ria Ricis' Story of Putting Moana to Sleep in the Middle of the Tedak Siten Event

“Alhamdulillah we have just performed the tedak siten procession and Alhamdulillah all of the family from Brebes, the parents from Aceh, and the wife's family were able to gather for this event,” said Teuku Ryan after the event in South Tangerang area, Sunday (19/3). 

The Tedak Siten Moana event was held with a very strong Javanese traditional atmosphere. According to Ria Ricis, the tradition has been passed down from her father's family for generations.

"Alhamdulillah, this tradition that we followed today has been passed down from Mbah Kung, who is Papa Ricis. Alhamdulillah, all of our family from Central Java came. It is indeed a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation, and earlier it was interpreted as coming down to earth, and Moana was introduced to stepping on, climbing, and descending," explained Ria Ricis. 

"It's like when you are on top, don't forget about those below, and the meaning inside the brackets has many choices in life, but we must be able to choose one of them. That's what I got from it," she continued.

"He chose the Quran and then chose medical tools, medicine too, then guitar and cooking, many things were chosen because he likes new things and explores a lot," added Teuku Ryan.  

Of all the processes that occurred when Moana was 'locked' in the chicken coop and had to choose one of the items inside, it was certainly the most anticipated moment for everyone. Apparently, of all the items available, Moana was very interested in medical tools.  

"Indeed, the most essential and most anticipated thing is the last one that entered the cage because it has been practiced for several days. Earlier, Moana chose many things. But the last thing brought out of the cage was actually a stethoscope for playing doctor. But whatever is chosen, it will definitely be the best, God willing," said Ria Ricis.  

However, the event which was also broadcast live by one of the private television stations was hindered because in the middle of the Moana event, she had to be put to sleep because it was already her bedtime.

"Alhamdulillah everything went smoothly, only Moana's bedtime was a bit of a hindrance, so she was a bit fussy earlier. But in the end, we decided to let her sleep first because I am a strict mother when it comes to bedtime, mealtime, and playtime. We let her sleep for almost 40 minutes. When Moana woke up, we continued the event," said Ria Ricis.

"Because we also followed the television's schedule. So we couldn't ask for much. Earlier, we put her to sleep for 2.5 hours but because it was already late afternoon, there was a slight hindrance, but Alhamdulillah everything went smoothly," she concluded.
