Richard Lee Becomes a Suspect of Defamation, Police Say Helwa Cosmetics Already Have BPOM Permission

Kapanlagi.com - The police, especially the investigators of Polda Metro Jaya, finally designated Richard Lee as a suspect in a defamation case reported by artist Kartika Putri.

"The first is related to defamation reported by Kartika Putri. Then, another problem is illegal access, both of which we have designated as suspects," said Dirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Auliansyah Lubis to the media recently.

1. Already Has Permission

Auliansyah Lubis said that the beauty product promoted by Kartika Putri already has permission from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). Even before being promoted, the Helwa product had been checked for barcode and indeed the cosmetics had permission from BPOM, making it a safe product.

"However, on social media, Richard Lee claimed that Kartika Putri endorsed counterfeit drugs and so on," said Kombes Pol Auliansyah Lubis.

2. Starting in January 2021

As known, the dispute between Kartika Putri and Richard Lee began in January 2021. In the uploaded video, Richard Lee discussed one of Helwa's beauty products, a face cream that he considered dangerous.

Apparently, the product referred to by Richard Lee in his video was once promoted by Kartika Putri. Shortly thereafter, Kartika Putri, who was unhappy, finally brought the matter to the legal realm.

3. Apologizing

While the legal process was ongoing, Richard Lee once publicly apologized to Kartika Putri. However, during mediation, Richard Lee also wanted Kartika Putri to apologize until the mediation did not reach a point where the case was continued.
