Richard Lee forcibly arrested based on Kartika Putri's report, Legal Counsel will bring the issue to the President

Kapanlagi.com - Yesterday afternoon (8/11/2021), the public was shocked by the arrest video of a beauty doctor and content creator named Richard Lee. The video, which has been deleted but has already been circulated, was first uploaded by Reni Effendi, Richard's wife, on her personal Instagram stories account.

Richard's arrest is the result of a report by Kartika Putri, a celebrity, to the Jakarta Metro Police in February. The reason for the report is that the doctor urged public figures not to promote beauty products containing hydroquinone indiscriminately, but indirectly mentioned Kartika's name.

Razman Arif Nasution, Richard's legal counsel, questioned why his client was suddenly arrested and forcibly taken. Looking at the ongoing case, it should not have been treated like that.

"There was an immediate arrest, what happened to him? If he insulted the head of state, insulted the national symbol, engaged in terrorism, posed a danger to the country, please. He was taken, I don't know. An investigator did not inform through land or air routes, cannot be accompanied by legal counsel, I don't know where he is now," said Razman as quoted by KapanLagi.com in his Instagram post.

1. Bring the Problem to the President

Razman Arif Nasution explained that Richard Lee was arrested in a weak condition. If something undesirable happens to his client, as his legal representative, he will not stay silent.

He promised to demand action against those who behave disrespectfully towards his client. Especially just because of a problem considered trivial.

"He just had a backache. If anything happens, I will sue you, I will bring this matter to the National Police Commission, the National Police Chief, the House Commission III, and the President. We have a principle that law enforcement should not be done for the benefit of anyone, any group. It must be done in the right and humane way," Razman firmly stated with emotion.

"This is a case that I consider trivial, but it is treated very disrespectfully. Once again, I urge everyone to fulfill our obligations in law enforcement. As lawyers, we have a function to defend the rights of our clients," Razman concluded.
