Rizky Billar Trains Abang L to Fast Even Though He Is Not Full Yet, Teaches Religion from an Early Age

The celebrity couple Rizky Billar and Lesti Kejora are very concerned about the education of their eldest son, Muhammad Levian Al Fatih Billar or Abang L. Although he is still very young, Rizky Billar admits that he has started introducing fasting to his child. This step is taken as part of the religious and moral education that they want to instill from an early age.

Rizky Billar stated that now is the perfect time to provide a basic understanding of the obligations of Muslims. Although he is not yet required to fast all day, Abang L has already shown an extraordinary effort to follow the routine during Ramadan. Billar feels proud to see his son's development as he is willing to learn to endure hunger and thirst.

"Yes, we have always taught religious education and character education from an early age, including fasting. Because we feel that at the age of 3 (almost 4 years), Abang L is at the right age to teach him to fast, even if not fully," said Rizky Billar when met in the Ampera area, South Jakarta, Thursday (5/3/2026).

In his learning process, Abang L does not always manage to last until maghrib. Rizky Billar recounted how his son tries to hold on until noon or the afternoon. This is considered good progress for a child of his age who is in a growth period.

"And alhamdulillah so far he is trying to continue, even though sometimes it's only half a day, or sometimes until 3 or 4 PM," he revealed.

Of course, inviting a small child to fast is not without challenges. Rizky Billar does not deny that at the beginning, Abang L showed certain reactions due to changes in eating patterns and daily schedules. "It was just at the beginning, maybe he was surprised at first," Billar explained.

For Billar and Lesti, what is most important right now is not the duration of the fast, but the introduction to the meaning of the worship itself. He wants Abang L to understand that fasting is not just about refraining from hunger, but a way to train oneself to become a better person.

"Yes, both my wife and I teach that fasting is a way for us to train patience, a way for us to be grateful, a way for us to resist our desires," he concluded.
