Sad News, Former Husband of Omas Passed Away

Kapanlagi.com - On July 16, 2020, comedian Omas took his last breath. Now, her former husband, Madi Pribadi, who is also a topeng Betawi artist, is reported to have passed away. The sad news was known from a post on the Betawi Cultural Institute's Facebook.

"Innalillahi Wainna Ilaihi Rojiun. Bang Madih (Topeng Betawi Artist) has passed away, the Betawi Cultural Institute mourns, may the deceased find a proper place in the sight of Allah SWT," wrote the post.

1. Confirmed by the Son

The sad news was also confirmed by the son, who is affectionately called Dio. He also learned about the news from his sibling.

"I heard the news from a relative who happened to be close to him. They said he passed away last night, but I don't know the exact time and cause of his illness. I also heard about his illness from the relative," Dio said when contacted on Sunday (26/7).

Dio said that since his parents divorced, he rarely communicated with his father. He has been living with his mother, Omas.

"Because since my mother separated in 2002 or 2003, we have had no communication at all. We only meet at lenong events or other occasions, but we don't have any conversations," he explained.

2. Prayer of a Child for the Late Father

Dio also couldn't attend the funeral because the location was quite far. However, he always prays for his late father.

"Because later we will have a family event, besides someone shared the location, it's quite far in the Cibitung area. May his grave be spacious and may all his affairs be made easy," he concluded.
