Saved for So Long, Via Vallen Finally Admits to Having Depression & Thinking of Suicide

Kapanlagi.com - No one would have thought that dangdut singer Via Vallen apparently harbored a heavy depression, even to the point of contemplating suicide. This happened because her appearance was heavily criticized by netizens.

The criticism apparently had a great impact on her. Via even hesitated to appear on television because of the netizens' criticism. She expressed this when she became a guest on a talk show hosted by Sule and Andre Taulany.

"At the very beginning, I was so depressed that I didn't want to appear on television for quite a long time. Except for those whose schedules were already planned in advance, I had to appear whether I liked it or not," she said.

She didn't tell anyone about her condition, only Via herself 'swallowed' her condition every day. She was so pressured that she even contemplated suicide.

"I didn't tell my family at all, so I had to face it myself. I didn't tell my family, I didn't tell my parents, I kept everything to myself. Until I reached a point where I wanted to end my life," she said while shedding tears.

Fortunately, Via immediately bounced back from the slump. The factor that enabled her to stand up again was none other than her family and also her fans.

"What makes me feel 'I can't just stay like this forever' is primarily the people around me, like my family. If I were to stop, I would be destroyed, and my family would be affected as well. Then, my fans themselves were shouting on social media, 'when will you release a new single', why is there nothing new from me. Then, from there I started thinking, and finally, it started yesterday, covering the song Aisyah," she concluded.
