Separated by the Window Pane, Rachmawati's Last Farewell Wave to Didi Mahardika

Kapanlagi.com - The third child of Bung Karno, Rachmawati Soekarnoputri took her last breath at the age of 70 after being exposed to the Covid-19 virus and treated at RSPAD, Jakarta. This certainly leaves a deep sorrow for the family, especially her son, Didi Mahardika.

As a close friend of Didi Mahardika, Nanda Persada once again tells the story of the farewell moment between a child and his late mother. During her mother's treatment at the hospital, Didi Mahardika always accompanied her, even though he could only see her from the window because it was known that Rachmawati had to undergo isolation due to being exposed to Covid-19.

"For several days, Mother Rachma has been treated at RSPAD and was in the ICU. The children kept praying until in the ICU. Last night until dawn, Mas Didi was still communicating, still sad, crying continuously, praying continuously, and had a bad feeling," said Nanda Persada when met at RSPAD Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta, Saturday (3/7/2021).

Nanda also explained the condition of the late Rachmawati before finally taking her last breath this morning. Besides having several pre-existing illnesses, he mentioned that the daughter of President Sukarno had indeed been exposed to the Covid-19 virus.

"There are many serious illnesses, yes. She had been using a wheelchair for a long time. The latest one was indeed affected by Covid. That might have made her condition even worse," he said.

2. The Last Memory of the Deceased with Didi

Nanda also shared a heart-wrenching moment when the late Rachmawati waved her hand to Didi Mahardika until she finally left forever. That wave of the hand was the last meeting between Didi Mahardika and Rachmawati Soekarno.

"It was like a farewell, through the glass, from a distance, still waving her hand, as if there was communication, it turned out to be the last meeting," said Nanda.

3. Nanda Close to the Late

Certainly as a friend, Nanda Persada also remembers how the late mother of Didi Mahardika was. According to him, Rachmawati Soekarno is a figure who always cares and thinks about the fate of the nation and the country.

"She was very caring towards her friends. So when we were at our friends' houses, the children always gathered together, talked about art and various things, so we felt like she was our mother. All of our friends cried, we didn't expect it," he said.
