Singer Cakra Khan shared his experience participating in the audition of America's Got Talent (AGT) 2023 some time ago. In the competition, Cakra Khan was stopped by one of the AGT 2023 judges, Simon Cowell, while singing the song Make It Rain.
Cakra Khan admitted to feeling immediately nervous and even experiencing stomach pain when the judge asked him to stop singing on stage.
"When I was stopped, it felt like a stomach ache, you could see me holding the mic, because if I let go of one, my hand tremors," said Cakra Khan when met in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (26/7/2023).
"So instead of embarrassing myself, I held it (with two hands) when I was stopped, well," he added.
Cakra Khan thought he was not allowed to proceed to the next round by Simon Cowell. Because the judge asked Cakra Khan not to continue singing the song 'Make It Rain'.
"I was surprised when I was stopped. Luckily, he asked me to stop to continue to the next one," he said.
Singer born in Pangandaran, February 27, 1992, admitted to feeling pressured when auditioning on AGT. Because a participant who auditioned before Cakra Khan was rejected by the judges, meaning they did not pass.
“What made me nervous was that before I (performed), everyone got X. So in my mind, that's why I was really nervous. People think that I've sung everywhere, but the pressure is different,” said Cakra Khan.
Cakra Khan's performance received praise from the judges of America's Got Talent 2023, namely Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel. Cakra Khan performed two songs during the audition, namely 'Make It Rain' and 'No Woman No Cry'.
Initially, Cakra Khan performed 'Make It Rain', but Simon Cowell stopped him and asked him to sing another song.
Cakra Khan with his distinctive voice successfully invited standing ovation from the judges and audience.
Finally, Cakra Khan advanced to the next round after receiving four "Yes" from the judges.
