"My dream now is for my child to always walk in the path of God, so that he can be successful and blessed. Because as humans, there will always be ups and downs," said Sheila Marcia when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, recently.

In raising her children, the wife of Dimas Akira applies an open parenting style. She wants her children to feel safe to talk about anything, including the mistakes they make. Sheila wants to ensure that her children know that her love will not diminish even if they make mistakes.

"And I always try to be honest with them because I always see them repeating the same mistakes or making other mistakes. So what else? Sharing as well, and maintaining closeness with my children," she said.

Sheila emphasizes the importance of two-way communication. She does not want her children to seek solutions outside the home that may not be safe or good for them. For her, home and parents should be the first place for children to turn to for help.

"So that if they have anything, they can tell me. Because I always say to them, whatever mistakes you make will not make Mama love you any less," she said.

With this loving yet firm approach, Sheila hopes her children grow up to be honest and responsible individuals. She always reminds them that the top priority in life is God, followed by parents.

"So Mama's love will never be less. Mama gets angry because she loves a lot. But, don't be afraid if you make any mistakes, talk, share," she concluded.
