'SI BOY's Notes' Reboot Version' Makes Angga Yunanda Understand the Style of Rich Kids

Kapanlagi.com - The film SI BOY's Notes reboot version starring Angga Yunanda and Syifa Hadju is confirmed to be screened in theaters in the homeland starting August 17, 2023. SI BOY's Notes was very popular in the 80s and 90s until it was made into 5 series. At that time, the film about teenage socializing with all its love drama was starred by Onky Alexander and Meriam Bellina. The character of Boy is very attached to his fans.

Now directed by Hanung Bramantyo, the character of Boy with a high social soul and having many friends is entrusted to Angga Yunanda. During the shooting process, Angga received a lot of input to give his best performance.

"It went smoothly for me as Boy, the preparation was quite long, there was reading, there was a fighting workshop because I had several sequences for fighting," said Angga Yunanda to reporters in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, recently.

1. Character of a Rich Kid

Angga Yunanda admitted that before receiving an offer to become Boy, he had already known the story of the phenomenal film. However, after a long discussion process with the director and producer, Angga was entrusted to portray the contemporary version of Si Boy without losing his original character from the 80s.

"But for the character development, I collected many other references to become the current Boy, like watching the original film and discussing it with the director. It was a long process, but finally, I could become Boy in CATATAN SI BOY 2023. Hopefully, it can be conveyed well," explained Angga Yunanda.

"Here, I want to give my own style as the present Boy. But there is still a common thread that is not far from the Boy of the past. It's just that this Boy makes me understand how rich people actually are, they don't like showing off," added Angga Yunanda.

2. Not a Bad Boy

Although in the trailer it shows the figure of Boy, masculine and racing in cars, Angga Yunanda emphasizes that the Boy he plays is not a bad boy.

"In my opinion, Boy is not a bad boy, he is a very good boy, humble. Very sporty. His gestures are certain, but let it be a surprise," explained Angga Yunanda.

"In the real world, Boy seems to be far from his character, but how I can find that Boy from the reading process is something amazing," concluded Angga Yunanda.

3. Starring Other Famous Names

NOTES FROM BOY reboot version is produced by MD Pictures in collaboration with two production houses, MVP Pictures and Dapur Film. In addition to Angga and Syifa Hadju, there is Alyssa Daguise as Vera, Rebecca Klopper as Ina, Arya Vasco as Jefri, Carmela van der Kruk as Ocha, Gemi Nastiti as Melly, Ara Ajisiwa as Ambar, Diandra Agatha as Susan, and Naimma Aljufri as Charma.

Regarding the main character, Manoj Punjabi revealed that Angga Yunanda is the most suitable person to play Boy in the millennial era.

"When casting for Boy, there were Angga and two other names in my mind. We know that playing Boy certainly has a lot of pressure. We have to be very sure who is deserving, who is suitable to become Boy. We finally chose Angga, because we feel that he can portray this Boy in the current era," said Manoj Punjabi.
