Kapanlagi.com - The father of artist Edric Tjandra, Benny Effendy Tjandra, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023 at the age of 71. After being laid to rest at the funeral home, the late Benny Effendy was buried at San Diego Hills Memorial Park, Karawang, West Java, on Thursday (23/11/2023).
Edric himself does not know the exact chronology of his beloved father's departure. Because, at the time of the incident, he was not at home. Instead, Edric received news that his father had become unconscious from his brother-in-law.
"He said that papa no longer responded, and then he stopped breathing, crying, and I was in the Senayan area at that time. The incident happened at home, in Sunter, so it's far," said Edric Tjandra at the Funeral Home of RS Husada, Sawah Besar area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/11/2023).
"I told them to immediately take him to the emergency room, but the hospital was still quite far away. In the end, maybe it was too late. Suddenly, there was no heartbeat, it was already gone," he added.

Edric revealed that his father has a history of stroke and was hospitalized a few weeks earlier due to health issues, although he was declared recovered at that time. However, at the time of his sudden departure, Edric suggested going to the hospital immediately to ensure his father's condition.
"So when he felt weak, he said, 'yes, I feel weak'. I said, 'okay, let's go to the hospital'. He had diarrhea, maybe that's why he felt weak. Well, out of the blue, he slept forever," he said.

Although his father's departure felt sudden, Edric tries to accept the loss with sincerity.
"Father is definitely at peace, he's happy and no longer in pain. We are the ones left here, truly feeling the sudden loss. But we try to accept it sincerely. Thank you, God, for everything, God's decree is the best," concluded Edric Tjandra.
