Sneak Peek at the Cast of 'SHOGUN': A Japanese Drama with High Ratings in 2024

Hiroyuki Sanada, a senior actor from Japan, plays the role of Lord Yoshi Toranaga. The character he portrays is very charismatic and skilled in strategizing warfare.

Anna Sawai plays the role of Toda Mariko. Mariko's character is a noblewoman who is devout in religious values. However, she is also known for her mysterious demeanor.

Tadanobu Asano portrays a character named Kashigi Yabushige who has a familial relationship with Lord Yoshi Toranaga.

Hiroto Kanai plays the role of Kashigi Omi in this drama. Intelligent, political, and full of potential, he is a young ruler of Ajiro. Despite his youth, Omi's calculations draw the attention of those in power, and he soon becomes involved in the struggle for control over Japan. 

Cosmo Jarvis portrays Anjin-san. He is known for his success in several popular films, such as PEAKY BLINDERS (2013-2022) and LADY MACBETH (2016).

Fumi Nikaido, portraying the character Ochiba no Kata. Someone who is cruel and calculating. She keeps her alliances only for herself.

Yuki Kura plays the character Yoshii Nagakado. Toranaga's brave and disrespectful son. Nagakado has a blind admiration for his father and a strong desire to prove himself. Often acting before thinking, Nagakado has more heart than common sense.

Yasunari Takeshima as Muraji. He is a hardworking Christian fisherman. With a mysterious and well-protected past, Muraji serves his master, Toranaga, and his village.

Yuka Kouri portrays Kiku, the most skilled and famous prostitute in Izu. Kiku excels and is skilled in ways known only to a select few men who can afford her.

Takehiro Hira portrays a character named Ishido Kazunari. He is a former farmer who later elevates himself to become a powerful warlord, a member of the Council of Regents, and the Protector of Osaka Castle. Ishido is a rough military veteran who seeks order and routine in every aspect of his life, enjoying daily rituals and bringing chaos into order.

Moeka Hoshi plays the role of Usami Fuji.  Fuji's young life is marked by a horrific tragedy, which will make her the most tragic character. She is the granddaughter of Hiromatsu, Toranaga's closest friend.

Shinnosuke Abe, who plays Toda Hirokatsu (Buntaro).  A resilient samurai. Buntaro's strength can only be matched by his skill in warfare. He is extremely loyal to his lord, Toranaga, and his father, Hiromatsu. He suffers from one weakness: jealousy towards his wife, Mariko.
