Special Needs, 10 Portraits of Ziona Putri Joanna Alexandra Taken to the Hospital - Insert CVC Catheter in the Neck

Unpleasant news came from Joanna Alexandra who had to take her youngest daughter, Ziona Eden, who fell ill on November 6, 2023, to the hospital. Ziona, who has been diagnosed with the rare disease Campomelic Dysplasia since the age of 3 months, experienced symptoms of coughing with a very weak body and saturation level of only 87 out of the normal range of 95-100%.

After undergoing laboratory tests, Ziona, who received intensive care in the PICU, was found to have bronchopneumonia and hyponatremia. Take a look at the photos below.

Joanna Alexandra always accompanies her beloved daughter during intensive care at the hospital. In fact, this mother of four children didn't even have time to take a shower when rushing Ziona to the emergency room.

Ziona, who is still weak due to low oxygen saturation despite being in the emergency room, immediately had an oxygen tube attached to her tiny nose, as well as an IV inserted in her hand.

Ziona's saturation level, which has not improved despite receiving maximum oxygen, has caused the little one to be transferred to the ICU for observation. This has greatly unsettled her mother, as she is extremely worried.

Bronchopneumonia is one form of wet lungs caused by the respiratory syncytial virus. Meanwhile, hyponatremia is an electrolyte disorder caused by low levels of sodium in the blood.

Due to these two conditions, Ziona, who is usually talkative and cheerful, becomes weak and can only whisper when calling her mother, which makes Joanna feel sorry for her little daughter.

Furthermore, Ziona is scheduled for the placement of a central venous catheter (CVC) which will be inserted through the neck as a medium for administering medication, infusion fluids, and so on.

After the CVC placement, the infusion on Ziona's hand can be removed and the little one can be more entertained as they can play freely. Hopefully, Ziona will recover soon and be able to return to their cheerful self as before.
