Standupindo Celebrates 9th Anniversary Virtually, Happy Comedians

Kapanlagi.com - The Indonesian Stand Up Comedy Community, known as Standupindo, has just celebrated its 9th anniversary on July 13, 2020. Unlike previous years, the comedians who are part of Standupindo celebrated it in a simple way, virtually.

In 2019, Standupindo celebrated its 8th anniversary in Malang, coinciding with the Jamboree Standup event. However, in 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Standupindo had to celebrate its anniversary virtually with dozens of comedians.

1. Celebrating Virtually

"If this year we celebrate virtually with a simpler procession, blowing candles through the Zoom application, there were about dozens of comedians who participated and could join. On July 13, at half past 8 in the evening, we made it, so it seemed simpler to adapt to the situation. Even then, it was a virtual candle blowing, the cake was a minimarket cake with candles on it, and everyone was happy," said the president of Standupindo, Adjis Doaibu to Kapanlagi.com, Thursday (16/7/2020).

2. Failed Community Event

Indeed, during the Covid-19 pandemic, many large events had to be canceled. Not only music, but also some stand-up comedy events had to be canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"During this Covid, many Indonesian stand-up events failed, one of which was the celebration of Kartini Day. We wanted to name the event Kartinian, we had prepared posters and everything, but what can you say, it just couldn't happen," said Adjis Doaibu.

3. Many Tours are Delayed

But there are also many events organized by other comedians like Pandji's tour that are delayed, some of MLI's friends are also delayed, Komtung, Hahaha Corp too. There are so many events delayed because of this, well, we can't do anything about it," he continued.

However, in this new normal era, comedians throughout Indonesia can breathe a little easier. This is because Standupindo has provided flexibility for communities in areas that want to hold open mics. Of course, they must comply with health protocol procedures.

4. Feel Free to Open Mic, but There Are Conditions

"For open mic, we have instructed all Standupindo communities in various regions, we said feel free to organize open mics if the situation in their respective areas has been resolved. Meaning not in the red zone or black zone, but there is also no more spread. We have also created our own protocol. So if you want to organize, please do so, but it is specifically for areas that have emerged from the red zone," Adjis Doaibu concluded.
