Starring in the Film 'AKHIRAT: A LOVE STORY', Della Dartyan Reveals Having Dated Someone of Different Religion for 6 Years

Kapanlagi.com - In the film AKHIRAT: A LOVE STORY, Adipati Dolken and Della Dartyan play the roles of lovers named Timur and Mentari who have different religions. When asked if they have ever experienced something similar in real life, they both admitted that they have been in that position, although with different conflicts.

"It's not exactly the same (as the story), but I have been in that position before, but the conflict was not about LDR (religious differences), but about personal matters. So the situation was similar, but the conflict was different," said Adipati Dolken during a press conference at XXI Gandaria City, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, on Friday (19/11).

"Actually, my previous (personal experience) was a different story. But there is a similar feeling that I can draw upon for the character of Mentari," said Della Dartyan.

According to Della Dartyan, the story of love with different religions is often experienced by many people. So this film is very relatable to anyone who watches it.

"Actually, it's not just me who has had a relationship with someone of a different religion, there are many people who have. Maybe some of you here have also experienced it, even if you haven't been in a relationship, just a crush but it stopped because of different religions. So I think this film can relate to many people," said Della Dartyan.

1. Dating Different Religions for 6 Years

Talking about her experience of dating someone from a different religion, Della Dartyan admitted that she had gone through it for 6 years. That became her advantage in understanding the character of Mentari.

"Actually, this is my advantage when reading the synopsis script at that time, I was offered a screen test and I could relate to it. I used to date someone from a different religion for six years, so when I read it, I thought, 'Okay, let's play it.' Because if I just imagine it without experiencing the difference, it won't feel real. So, I poured what I had felt into Mentari," she explained.

2. Many Similarities

Besides having similarities with the story in the film, Della Dartyan apparently also feels that she has many similarities with the character of Mentari.

"What's unique about Mentari is that her character is very similar to mine, she really resembles me. So, this is an advantage for me. I am very fortunate in this project. Mentari is an only child, and I am an only child too. I also used to learn painting. Everything seems to be made easy for me, her inner conflicts are also very similar," concluded Della Dartyan.
