Starting from Cooking in a Boarding House, Influencer Stasya Bwarlele Opens a Restaurant!

Kapanlagi.com - The pandemic does not prevent influencer and content creator Stasya Bwarlele from doing business. Coinciding with the moment of Indonesian independence, she opened a restaurant named eSBe Kitchen.

After the opening, Stasya and her partner named Sigit shared the beginning of the idea to open a restaurant. It turns out it started from cooking as a hobby in their boarding house.

"Two years ago, we casually cooked in our boarding house. Then we let our friends try it and they liked our cooking. So we thought, why not try a food business," said Sigit, interviewed in Ciganjur, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (17/8/2021).

Stasya added that she and Sigit started their business by selling online. Unexpectedly, many people ordered for donation to those affected by Covid-19.

"At first, we tried it out online since late 2019. When Covid was high, many people ordered rice bowls to be donated to those affected by Covid. We also created a menu that can be delivered outside the island," explained Stasya.

1. Many Franchise Opening Offers

So far, Stasya Bwarlele's food business still only has one store. There have been many offers to turn it into a franchise. However, Sigit chooses to focus on one store first.

"So far, there have been many offers to open a franchise. But we're not doing it yet because we're still new, we want to do it on our own first. We're grateful for the enthusiasm, it's all good and positive," said Sigit.

The specialty menu in Stasya's food business is tongkol balado (spicy tuna). However, besides that, she also sells ayam woku (spicy chicken), ayam geprek (smashed chicken), sautéed bitter melon, spicy chicken feet, and sautéed papaya flowers at affordable prices. [abs]
