This was revealed when Denny Sumargo collaborated with Pandji Pragiwaksono on YouTube a while ago. The man who is familiarly known as Densu told the story of his first interest in the sport that made his name famous.

"Finally, I joined the extracurricular (basketball), and it turned out that I was bullied," said Denny Sumargo quoted from Pandji Pragiwaksono's YouTube channel.

1. His Appearance Doesn't Look Like a Basketball Player

Denny Sumargo said, at that time he didn't have any basketball skills at all but joined the basketball extracurricular activity in his school. However, because his appearance didn't look like a typical basketball player, he experienced bullying from his teammates.

"Initially, I was bullied because my appearance as a basketball player was very noticeable. So sometimes there was a gap," said the 38-year-old man.

2. Don't Have Basketball Equipment

At that time, Densu, who was just starting to play basketball, didn't have any basketball equipment. He also admitted that his family couldn't support him due to economic problems.

"Well, at that time, I didn't have basketball shoes, I didn't have proper basketball equipment," said Densu.

My mom couldn't afford it, my economic situation was really bad. So I wore my grandfather's pants, then I wore short volleyball pants, then I wore long school socks, and I wore Docmar shoes," he explained.
