Stephanie Poetri's performance, along with other Indonesian singers like Rich Brian and NIKI who are part of the 88Rising label, successfully caught the attention of both domestic and international audience.
As a mother, Titi DJ is certainly very enthusiastic to see her youngest daughter's performance. She even willingly woke up early in the morning to watch Stephanie Poetri's act.
"Yes, when Meni (Stephanie Poetri's nickname) performed at the Head In The Clouds Festival, it was evening there and morning here, so I intentionally woke up early in the morning to be able to watch her," said Titi DJ when met in Sudirman area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (11/11).
It has been five months since we last met, Titi DJ admits that she misses her daughter who is now grown up. As a result, she can only kiss her daughter through the TV screen.
"Yes, I miss her so much. But I'm sure she's busy with her work, being taken care of by trusted people. (Before performing) she just says 'wish me luck'," said the singer of 'Bahasa Kalbu'.
"Oh, it's touching, proud, and longing all at once. I can only kiss the TV screen, hug it to feel closer," she continued while laughing.
Seeing Stephanie Poetri currently striving to achieve her dream as an international singer, Titi DJ can only feel proud and grateful.
"Yes, I'm proud as her mother. Because she has achieved, although not fully, but she has started to make progress. So she is building her career, realizing her dreams," she concluded.
