Artist Lucky Hakim has resigned from his position as Deputy Regent of Indramayu, West Java. The actor from the soap opera MISTERI GUNUNG MERAPI 3 admitted that he has faced the consequences of his decision to step back from his position. Lucky Hakim admitted that the people of Indramayu might be angry with him.
This is because during the campaign, he asked the people to choose him as the leader of Indramayu. However, once elected, Lucky Hakim decided to resign.
"Of course, the consequence is that the community is angry at me. I was chosen and then withdrew. But what's worse, being chosen but not fulfilling promises," said Lucky Hakim in Leuwinanggung area, Wednesday (15/2/2023).
"I admit formally that I am not capable of carrying out the mandate as deputy regent. I can't possibly visit each house individually, so I hope the people of Indramayu can understand," he added.
Lucky Hakim feels ashamed in front of the people of Indramayu because he feels like a failure. He walks with his head down in Indramayu because he is ashamed of the local community.
"I was in Indramayu yesterday, if I walked I would bow down, because of shame. That might be the consequence for me," said Lucky Hakim.
Lucky Hakim revealed that there is a possibility that he will be criticized by the Indonesian society for his decision to resign as Deputy Regent. However, he considers that the criticism actually makes him feel more at ease.Â
"Maybe I will be criticized by the entire Indonesian society, but it is more peaceful than me with all the luxury and seeing everyone being deceived by me, I am living off blind salary. It is better for me to be criticized but admit my mistakes," he said.
Feeling ashamed and failed, Lucky Hakim admitted that he has not taken any meal money for the past year.
"Until I don't want to accept the budget for food and drink, because I think it's too extravagant. I already earn more than 50 million rupiah with all the luxurious facilities," he said
"Maybe this will backfire on me, but I feel guilty if I don't step back, I'm ashamed," he continued.
"I'd rather be ashamed now, hoping Allah forgives and the people of Indramayu forgive, rather than being accountable in the afterlife," he concluded.
