Studying in America, Maudy Ayunda Grateful to Never Experience Discrimination Because of Skin Color

Kapanlagi.com - Currently, Maudy Ayunda is pursuing her Master's degree at Stanford University, California, United States. As an Asian girl with a fair yellow skin color, she apparently did not experience any discrimination while being there.

This is because the area where she currently resides is inhabited by people from various ethnicities. Therefore, cultural differences, skin color, and race are not an issue.

"I personally don't really feel that there is such a thing as discrimination. Because here, maybe because it's California, I can only speak my experience, there are so many cultures, different ethnic groups. So, there are various skin colors here, interacting together, living together," said Maudy during the launch of Pond's Instabright Tone Up Cream via Zoom, recently.

Because it is inhabited by people from various ethnicities, Maudy is grateful that she has not experienced discrimination because of her exotic skin color. Moreover, the people around her, especially in Palo Alto, tend to be the type who do not make a fuss about differences.

"If, for example, I am from Indonesia, here there are also many people from Asia, or Asian-Americans. In terms of skin color, I don't think it's something that has been a problem so far. It's quite inclusive, especially in Palo Alto," said the actress who is also a singer.

2. Busy Days

Furthermore, Maudy Ayunda shared about her daily life during college. Lately, she admitted that she has been very busy to the point where she has to smartly manage her time between education and managing her career in Indonesia.

"Mostly online classes. I don't know why it feels so full. Classes through zoom, sometimes from morning until night. After that, I have some work in Indonesia. Usually, in the morning I have full classes, and at night I start with meetings or press conferences like this. To be honest, my days are quite hectic to focus on these two things," Maudy said.
