This female graduate singer from Stanford University has just released her second single titled "Pelangi". A song that serves as the soundtrack of the SCTV soap opera titled "Badai Pasti Berlalu".

"Because I just returned to Jakarta, I want to shoot a music video for the song Pelangi," said Christie Hartono in a virtual press conference on Saturday (8/7/2021).

As a newcomer singer, Christie Hartono's career in the Indonesian music industry is going smoothly. The songs she sings are well-received by the public.

"As Christie said, many people don't know that Christie has been a singer for a long time. She didn't just jump in, before her debut, Christie worked behind the scenes of the international music industry.

Christie Hartono's success as a singer is inseparable from the support of her parents. Christie's parents are very supportive of her aspirations.

They truly fully support Christie's steps in becoming a professional singer. Christie admits that she is very grateful to have parents like them.

"My parents are happy and supportive of my dream to become a singer. Like any other parents, they want the best for me. Christie has wanted to become a singer since long ago. It's only now because my parents wanted me to have knowledge about music first. That's why I worked at a music label in America," she said.

"My parents asked me to mature my vocals and the industry, so they told me to go to school first. After graduating from college, I worked at a label. After maturing, then I became a singer. I don't want to be an instant singer," Christie continued.

2. Duet with Top Singers

Throughout her career in the Indonesian music industry, Christie has collaborated with several top singers in the country. One of them is a collaboration with the famous band in the country, NOAH.

Among many singers, there is one musician she really wants to collaborate with, which is Melly Goeslaw. Christie admits that she greatly admires the multi-talented artist.

Christie admits that she really enjoys listening to songs written by Melly Goeslaw. She hopes for an opportunity to create a song together.

"In the future, I really want to collaborate with Melly Goeslaw. I love listening to her songs. I hope we can collaborate. If there's a chance, I really want to write songs together with Melly," Christie concluded.
