Comedian Sule is filled with happiness as he awaits the birth of his first grandchild from the couple Rizky Febian (Iky) and Mahalini. However, Sule seems to keep some things private when asked about his preparations to become a grandfather.
"Oh, that's a secret, why would I share it? You all have happiness too, don’t you share it with us," Sule said with a laugh when met in the Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/1/2025).
When asked about the preparations for welcoming his grandchild, Sule replied that the responsibility lies more with Rizky Febian as the future father. He is only ready to support and welcome the arrival of his grandchild when the time comes.
"The preparations are for the father; the grandfather just waits to welcome the baby when they arrive," Sule explained.
When asked about his hopes regarding the gender of his grandchild, Sule chose not to answer directly. He prioritizes gratitude for whatever is given by God.
"It's a secret, I already mentioned it in FYP if I'm not mistaken, just ask Irfan Hakim," he said.
Even so, Sule admitted that he has no specific desire regarding his grandchild. He just wants Iky and Mahalini's small family to live happily and peacefully, regardless of the grandchild's gender.
"I don't want anything, I just want happiness. I want peace and tranquility. Whether it's a girl or a boy, let's enjoy it, be grateful. Whatever it is, as a human, don't have too many desires or wants. Just go through life straight," Sule expressed.
Regarding the naming of the grandchild, Sule fully entrusts it to Rizky Febian and Mahalini. He wants Iky to learn to be an independent and responsible parent without too much interference from him.
"If that's the case, Iky won't grow up. After all, when I gave birth to Iky, I didn't ask anyone for help. So let Iky grow up. He is now a father, becoming a responsible parent. That's the point," Sule emphasized.
Sule also stated that he does not feel the need to give special advice to Rizky Febian and Mahalini. According to him, both children already know what to do as parents.
"There’s nothing, the kids already know what they are doing. They must know, especially in this day and age. So what does it mean to be a good child, what does it mean to be a good parent, how to respect parents, they already know what it’s like," he said.
