Surprising Confession from Anya Geraldine, Ever Bullied for Being Overweight

"Hanna is a very kind character and actually very gentle at heart. Previously, she was a shy child because she didn't like her body shape. Then Alissa (Yuki Kato) taught her to be more brave," said Anya Geraldine during an online press conference on Wednesday (22/4).

1. Previously Bullied in School

Turns out there are character similarities between Hanna and Anya Geraldine in real life. Anya Geraldine admitted to having weight problems like Hanna and also being bullied for being overweight.

“Of course (I was bullied). When I was in elementary school and junior high, I was overweight. But as I got older, I became thinner,” she said.

2. Close to the Character Hanna

Because of these character similarities, Anya Geraldine finds it easier to portray the character of Hanna. “What I like most about being Hanna is probably because she has many things that are very related to my personal life,” she concluded.

Pretty Little Liars, which airs on VIU, tells the story of four teenagers who have just lost their leader, Alissa (Yuki Kato), mysteriously. A year later, Hanna (Anya Geraldine), Ema (Eyka Farhana), Sabrina (Valerie Thomas), and Aria (Shindy Huang) reunite after receiving mysterious messages from a figure named 'A' who threatens to expose their darkest secrets.
