Surprising Print, 9 Portraits of Saaih Halilintar Who Won 2nd Place in Swimming at TOSI - Competing Tight Despite Minimal Training

Saaih Halilintar made a surprise at the Indonesian Celebrity Sports Tournament (TOSI) in the swimming category organized by RANS Entertainment and SCTV. Despite lacking proper preparation, Saaih managed to secure second place, an achievement he never expected.

“Second place. This is actually a huge surprise, I didn’t expect it. Because I never learned to swim. I’ve never learned to swim at all. I used to swim sometimes with my siblings when I was little,” said Saaih while laughing at PPOP Ragunan, South Jakarta, Saturday (19/10/2024).

Saaih admitted that two days before the competition, he was suddenly contacted to participate in the race. This situation made him panic because he hadn't touched the swimming pool for eight months.

“Well, I panicked all of a sudden. I haven't swum for 8 months, 8 months I haven't swum,” he said.

Interestingly, Saaih was only able to try training during a promotional video session one day before the competition started. Amid these limitations, he relied on motivation from his father to perform at his best.

“The base I have is that my father invited me to have a champion mentality. So even if you are not the best in this field, if you have a champion mentality, you can win anywhere,” he explained confidently.

Saaih also revealed how tight the competition was between him and Emil, who managed to become the first champion. Although Emil appeared relaxed and humble, Saaih had realized from the beginning that Emil was a tough swimmer.

“Wow, this is a swimmer, this is a swimmer,” he said. “Then his fans came, bringing pictures of him swimming, wow, this is a swimmer. So I panicked too.”

However, Saaih remained proud because he was only two seconds behind Emil in the race. “I, who have never swum, I, who have never trained at all, getting close to him, just two seconds apart from him, that for me is something to be proud of,” he expressed contentedly.

For Saaih, achieving second place in this tournament is a very happy bonus. “Getting second place is a bonus. So I am very happy today. This is one of the happiest weeks,” he said with a big smile.

Although he was initially hesitant due to a lack of practice, this result made Saaih even more confident that with a champion's mentality, he can compete in various fields. His participation in TOSI has also become an invaluable and unforgettable experience for him.
