Previously, El had proposed to Syifa privately while they were doing a photoshoot in Switzerland. El asked Syifa to be his wife in October 2025, and the actress accepted with great emotion.
Ahmad Dhani, El's father, had leaked that his second son would get married in mid-2026. However, El himself admitted he was reluctant to give a specific date to Dhani, because it would surely be 'leaked' by his father.
Dhani mentioned that El and Syifa, along with their families, have done a fitting for the engagement attire. Dhani also revealed that there will be no ngunduh mantu event at El's wedding, due to economic constraints on Dhani's side.
El himself once told Dhani that he is not asking for a lavish party for his wedding with Syifa. Rather than a grand reception like Al Ghazali's wedding, El prefers to just ask for a simple event from his father.
