Synopsis of the Noragami Heaven Arc Anime, A Justified Revenge

Driven by deep vengeance, Bishamon opens the hafuru-mono box containing evil spirits and names it "Nana," an act of high treachery against the rules of Heaven. This act provokes Heaven's wrath, which promptly sends execution forces to conquer Bishamon.

1. Synopsis

Yato, a minor god trying to build his reputation, gets involved when he supports Bishamon and requests a ceasefire to stop the slaughter.

With the help of Yukine as Sekki (a dual knife form), Yato fights against the forces of Heaven, including the thunder god Takemikazuchi, who ultimately loses and joins the rebels.

Yato's involvement brands him as a rebel as well, while Hiyori Iki struggles to understand the increasingly complicated world of gods from a human perspective.

Yukine faces great inner conflict; he urges Yato to kill Bishamon to stop the chaos, as Father is Yato's "life" from his dark past.

Yato refuses and instead seriously injures Bishamon, putting her in a coma while she recovers. Meanwhile, the forces of Heaven continue to press, introducing new abilities such as the Arrest curse and lightning defense spells.

The Trial by Pledge becomes the climax of the tension, where the major gods judge the rebels. Takemikazuchi defends Yato and Bishamon, while Amaterasu, the chief sun goddess, appears and reveals her ability to return shinki to their original human forms.

Many new abilities are introduced, such as Kaikatsu to break Inko's spells and the Amaterasu seal that shrinks shinki into stone boxes.

Hiyori plays a supporting role with her Soul Summoning ability, helping to maintain the balance between the human world and the gods. Yukine learns to control his anger as a shinki, while Yato gets closer to his dream of building a temple, even though his past with Father continues to haunt him. Bishamon, despite being in a coma, becomes a symbol of the struggle against Father's manipulation.

The conflict reaches a climax as Yato faces a difficult choice, to protect his friends or adhere to ancient rules. An epic battle against the forces of Heaven showcases shinki strategies like Mikagami and Kiun, with Takemikazuchi switching sides after his defeat. This arc strengthens the bonds of the main trio: Yato, Yukine, and Hiyori.

At the end of the arc, Heaven acknowledges its mistakes, but the seeds of new conflict arise with Father escaping. Bishamon awakens from her coma, ready to continue the struggle, while Yato reflects on what it means to be a true god. The Heaven Arc deepens the lore of Noragami with elements of inter-god politics and character growth.
