Failed in Education, These 7 Indonesian Celebrities Have Successful Careers
A number of Indonesian celebrities have decided to quit their education for the sake of the careers they pursue.
Kapanlagi.com - Tegar Satrya admitted to having many unique experiences while being involved in the entertainment world, especially in the local film industry. Among the many characters he played in several feature films, Tegar admitted that it was difficult for him when he took on the role in the film Remember The Flavor.
In this film directed by Dyan Sunu Prastowo, Tegar played the character named Imam Fahroni, who is a homosexual or gay. For him, what made it very challenging to play this character was his struggle to explore the character.
"In the film Remember The Flavor, I played a gay character, and it was clearly a struggle to be able to explore that character. Because honestly, in real life, I am not in that realm," said Tegar Satrya when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (30/6).
"But I have to be able to play and enter the realm of other people's lives. Which is far from my real life. Whether I like it or not, I have to explore and learn a lot about their (gay) way of life, and it's actually quite challenging for me," he continued.
Special
Even to delve into his role as a 37-year-old man, Tegar had to interview a gay person. Despite encountering many difficulties in playing the character, during the shooting, Tegar was fortunately able to portray the character well.
"To explore it, I interviewed the victim and had conversations and discussions with psychologists, and it turns out that it is really terrifying for me. Eventually, I talked to my director about this character, and we decided to play it. Alhamdulillah, the production went smoothly," he said.
Not only that, playing the role of an antagonist and portraying a homosexual character in the movie The Raid, Tegar also had to endure criticism from netizens. However, for him, it is normal because such criticism is a sign that he successfully played the character.
"I also received criticism at that time because that was the motivation. If I play a villain and there are comments on social media criticizing me, it means that my work has reached them and can evoke emotions in the audience," he concluded.
