Thalita Latief Officially Divorced and Granted Custody of Child, Dennis Lyla Will Appeal Due to This Issue

Kapanlagi.com - Thalita Latief filed for divorce from her husband Dennis Rizky at the Central Jakarta Religious Court in March. In her lawsuit, the actress only requested an immediate separation and custody of their children.

After a series of hearings, Thalita's lawsuit was granted by the panel of judges. The decision was made today (29/7/2021) through e-court.

"(The decision) basically grants Thalita Latief's lawsuit. It determines that custody of the children will be given to Thalita. Everything is granted," said Makhfuzat Zein, Dennis' legal representative, when contacted by phone.

Previously, Thalita Anne Marie Latief, whose real name is, felt confused when Dennis Lyla suddenly started looking for their child during the divorce process. Previously, during the three years of separation, her husband never asked about the well-being of their child.

1. Appeal Due to This Issue

Dennis Rizky, or more familiarly known as Dennis Lyla, apparently disagrees with the existing verdict and wants to file an appeal. According to him, the Central Jakarta Religious Court has no authority to adjudicate their divorce case.

"We will make an effort to appeal because we feel that the Central Jakarta Religious Court is not authorized to adjudicate this case. The appeal is not about the judge's decision, but rather about the process. We want to uphold the correct process," explained Makhfuzat Zein.

Since the previous hearing, Dennis has indeed felt that the Central Jakarta Religious Court is not authorized to handle the divorce with Thalita. Because, in terms of domicile, it should be handled by the Tigaraksa Religious Court.

"Thalita Latief does not live in Pejompongan but in Bintaro. That's why we believe that the panel of judges made a wrong decision on a case that is not under their jurisdiction," said Makhfuzat.
