"That's because I poisoned him. So back when he used to take me to school, when he took me to English lessons. I was a huge fan of Blink 182. So I bought the cassette, I bought the CD. If he was driving me to school or to English lessons, I would play Blink 182," he said when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (31/7/2024).

"The album I played the most was Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. The song Stay Together for the Kids, he already memorized, Give Me One Good Reason, he memorized the most, he roughly memorized Animal of the State, something like that," Pasha continued.

1. Loves Progressive Music

Pasha added that Chrisye did not limit himself to one music genre. That's why, when a song from the band Blink 182 was played, his late father liked it.

"Actually, even though he is known as a pop singer, if you know his history, he actually liked progressive music, including punk and punk rock. So he liked The Police, and if you know Genesis, the old ones like E.L.P, King Crimson, basically progressive music, he liked it," added Pasha.

2. Diverse Music Taste

Although Chrisye is known as a pop singer, he has a very diverse taste in music and does not categorize it.

"And he was someone who did not categorize music. So whatever was said to be good, for example, if people said a song was tacky, he considered it good," explained Pasha.

3. Plan to Watch a Concert Together

When asked if Pasha and the late Chrisye had ever watched a concert together, Pasha recounted that they had planned to watch a Korn concert. However, the plan did not materialize.

"At that time, we wanted to watch a concert but he was like, at that time he wanted to (watch) Korn. Initially, we were going to watch it together, but because he saw the DVD, he said, 'Oh, it seems like Dad won't join,' So I ended up watching it with his assistant," he said.

4. Canceled to Concert Together

According to Pasha, Chrisye felt that he might not be suitable to attend the concert because he was a pop singer and was concerned about people's views. In the end, Pasha watched the concert with his assistant.

"It didn't happen because maybe he was thinking, why would a pop singer go to a Korn concert. People would talk about it, but he didn't go even though he initially wanted to watch the concert together," he concluded.
