Kapanlagi.com - Roger Danuarta and Cut Meyriska have fun habits when traveling. They almost always bring their children on every trip. In fact, both admit they cannot enjoy the moment if traveling without their little ones. Cut Meyriska revealed that she and Roger have been accustomed to taking their children traveling since they were young.
"It’s not possible if we don’t go with the kids. Both of us really think about it. Just going for a short trip without the kids makes us anxious, we can’t even sleep, we can’t relax. It’s just not happy like that," said Cut Meyriska when met at the Trans TV Studio, Tendean, South Jakarta, on Friday (14/2/2025).
Their children have also been used to traveling since they were six months old. Therefore, when there’s an interesting new place, they often send each other recommendations to try together.
"So my child has been traveling since six months, so they are just used to it. And they also ask to go, even invite us," added Cut.
1. A Unique Challenge
Traveling with family certainly has its own challenges. Roger admits that family trips often end up chaotic due to the number of items that need to be packed and the number of people involved.
"Of course. Family trips are the most chaotic. There’s a lot of stuff, and there are many people," Roger said with a laugh.
Despite that, their debates are not about blaming each other, but rather finding solutions to make the next trip more comfortable.
"But if it's a debate between the two of us blaming each other, we don't have time for that. So every time there's a problem, we think about it. Okay, what do we need to do next? We can't just let it be like this," Cut explained.
2. Not Fully Relying on Others

They also do not fully rely on the help of others. Even though there are nurses or family members who join, the children still feel closer to their parents.
"Even though we have a nurse who joins or my mom who comes along. But the kids are closer to us. So it's like we carry them," she continued.
Besides taking care of the children, Cut also feels more confident managing their own belongings.
"I suddenly memorize the items, right? Like I can't really trust someone to help me get the suitcase. Since I remember, I just take care of it myself," she said.
Although traveling with children is often exhausting, both feel that all the hard work pays off when they see their children happy.
"But it’s fun, right? The good thing is all the exhaustion, our fatigue, our reward, our health. All of it feels worth it. When we see that we are happy. We are happy," she concluded.
