According to an announcement from the publisher, this decision was made to prioritize the physical and mental well-being of its creators. The workload in the routine production of manga is considered quite heavy, so the editorial team has provided a break to maintain the quality of the manga. This manga has previously gone on hiatus, including from January to July 2025.

In addition to the manga version, this series has also been adapted into an anime series by Studio Madhouse. Its first season aired in the fall of 2023. A second season has been announced and is scheduled to air starting January 16, 2026.

After the death of her group leader, Himmel, Frieren realizes how little time she has spent understanding humans and their feelings. She decides to embark on a new journey, this time not to defeat demons, but to learn about the meaning of life, time, and human relationships.

On her journey, Frieren is accompanied by her student named Fern and a young soldier named Stark. Together, they strive to redeem her past regrets while discovering the meaning of the memories and emotions she once ignored.
