Maxime himself emphasized that the pause was merely part of an effort to calm himself down. He admitted he didn’t have time to take another breath after he started speaking."But I only took one breath, there was no more pull," he said.
According to Luna, netizens are making too much of the brief pause. In fact, she mentioned that there were netizens who counted the duration of the pause in detail."It was only a fraction of a second, yet some even counted the seconds on social media," said Luna.
Luna thought Maxime would repeat the vows because he seemed silent for a moment before finishing his speech."I thought, ah he's going to repeat this, but it turns out it was just a brief moment, just a fraction of a second," she said.
Nevertheless, Luna ensured that they had sought clarification from religious leaders regarding the matter."It has been clarified by a competent religious leader, and in my opinion, that answers it," explained Luna.
Maxime also confirmed that he was very tense at that moment, especially having to face Luna's biological brother as the guardian for the marriage."My face was really tense there, I was really nervous. And the vows were with Luna's brother," said Maxime.
Meanwhile, Luna said that the tension actually became part of the beauty of their ijab kabul moment."Which is very beautiful, I really enjoyed it from before it started," said Luna.
