The Psychological Impact on Ricky Perdana's Child, Now Afraid to Be in a Room

The incident of falling from the second floor not only left physical wounds for Kenizio, the son of actor Ricky Perdana. This traumatic event also had psychological effects that made the 2-year-old toddler now afraid to be in enclosed spaces.

Ricky Perdana revealed that one significant change in Zio after the incident is his reluctance to be in a room. Zio will immediately ask to go out if taken into a room.

"What he is traumatized by is that he doesn’t want to be in a room," said Ricky.

"So like in the room, he doesn't want to. He points to the door, he doesn't want to be in that room," he said when met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, Tuesday (16/10/2025).

Ricky suspects that this trauma stems from Zio's experience during an MRI examination. At that time, Zio had to enter a machine in a dark room surrounded by masked medical staff.

To address the child's fear, Ricky and the family are now rearranging their home. They are placing a mattress in the open family room so that Zio feels more comfortable and does not feel alone.

"In front of the TV, we put a mattress for him to sleep. So when he's in front of the TV, there's a window next to him, and behind him are many people, so he thinks he's not alone," he explained.

Despite experiencing trauma, Ricky is grateful that Zio's communication skills are unaffected. The child is still actively speaking and responding well during interactions.

"I monitor him, and he still responds well when we communicate. It's important that he still calls for mommy, calls for daddy, asks for what he wants, wants to drink, wants to eat," he said.

Now, the family is focused on Zio's overall recovery, both physically and psychologically. They hope Zio can soon overcome his trauma and return to being cheerful as before.
