Recently, actor Daffa Wardhana visited the KapanLagi.com office to discuss his latest film, AIR MATA DI UJUNG SAJADAH 2. In a session, the 26-year-old revealed the reason why he was once forbidden by his mother to enter the entertainment world in Indonesia.
As is known, Daffa is the only child of senior actress Marini Zumarnis, who has experienced the ups and downs of the Indonesian entertainment industry since the 90s.

Daffa Wardhana admitted that he initially did not receive approval to become an actor. It was revealed that financial factors were a concern for Marini if her son ventured into the entertainment world.
"Surely it's also about his fortune, and we can't deny that there are more unstable moments, right? As a man in Indonesia, we are expected to be the head of the family. To lead our family, one important factor is definitely financial stability, right?" said Daffa in a segment of KapanLagi Show.
Actually, Marini and her husband directed Daffa to pursue a career as a businessman or office worker. Because of this, they even sent Daffa to school in Australia.
"So, my mom since I was little has actually directed me towards a more stable world, which is in the office, a business where the career path is also clearer. And she has already sent me to school in Australia and once I graduated, there were definitely expectations in that direction," she continued.
However, Daffa eventually decided to choose the entertainment world as his career path. This former Ju-jitsu athlete made his acting debut in a web series in 2022.
Until now, Daffa has starred in several feature films. Nevertheless, Daffa continues to consult with Marini regarding role selection in each film or series.
"Wow, still (consulting for taking roles). In fact, if I don't consult, my mom would get upset right away. It's understandable because beyond being the one who gave birth to me, my mom is also my inspiration to be here," said Ariel Tatum's boyfriend.
"If there are roles and I don't consult, Mama likes to say, 'what is it, just take a look!' But actually, our intention is to just want to surprise. So I struggle alone, you know," he concluded.
