Until now, Gading Marten seems to still be comfortable with his status as a widower. It is known that he divorced Gisella Anastasia in 2019.
When met in the Kuningan area of South Jakarta on Tuesday (17/9), Gading Marten admitted that holding the status of a widower has various effects on him. Nevertheless, he doesn't worry too much because people's perceptions of him cannot be controlled.
"We can't know what people think and they have different opinions. Some view it negatively, while others see it as just normal," said Gading Marten.
"For me personally, being a widower is just a status, like being single or not single, the only difference is that you have experienced marriage, whether you have children or not," he continued.
However, Gading does not deny that being a widower is not an easy thing. Especially if you already have children from a previous marriage, automatically the support for the child must still be fulfilled.
But he reiterated that being a widower is not the end of everything. You don't have to be sad and gloomy because of a failed marriage. Â
"It's not easy to be a widower, but being a widower is not the end of everything," he said.
"You don't have to be gloomy all the time, you can't just give up, you still have to work, especially if you already have children that need to be supported, not to mention the shared assets that need to be taken care of, oh my," he said.
In addition, for him, everyone has failed to be a husband, but that does not mean they must also fail to be a father even after separating from their wife.
"You may fail as a partner but don’t fail as a father," he remarked. Â
