Threatened with 12 Years in Prison, Anji Accepts Prosecutor's Charges

Kapanlagi.com - Singer Erdian Aji Prihartanto, or familiarly known as Anji, is currently undergoing drug rehabilitation at the Drug Dependency Hospital (RSKO) in East Jakarta. Despite undergoing rehabilitation, the legal process against Anji, who is involved in a drug abuse case, continues.

The trial for the case involving Anji was held for the first time at the West Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (15/9). From observation, the trial was conducted virtually at around 3:00 PM WIB. In the courtroom, there were only the Public Prosecutor (JPU) and the Panel of Judges.

Meanwhile, Anji, who was not accompanied by a legal counsel, attended the trial virtually from RSKO. In the trial, the Public Prosecutor charged Anji with Article 111 and 127 of Law No. 35 of 2009, with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.

"The maximum penalty is 12 years in prison," said the JPU.

1. Anji Receives Prosecutor's Charges

After the prosecutor read out the charges, the panel of judges, chaired by Yulisar, SH, MH, then asked Anji, "Do you accept the prosecutor's charges?" asked Yulisar.

"I accept, Your Honor," answered Anji.

Since Anji accepts the charges, the panel of judges will proceed directly to the main examination of the case with the agenda of hearing testimony from witnesses from the prosecutor's office next Wednesday, September 22, 2021. As for the witnesses who will be presented, the prosecutor's office has prepared three witnesses from the police who arrested Anji and the doctor who treated Anji while he was at RSKO.

"The witnesses we present are in accordance with the arrest, three from the police. Later, we will also present a doctor who rehabilitated the person," said one of the prosecutors, Josep Christian, SH.
