Tomorrow, Irwansyah Will Be a Witness in the Trial of Tubagus Chaeri Wardhana Bribery Case

Kapanlagi.com - Tomorrow, Thursday (28/5/2020), the continuation of the money laundering case with defendant Tubagus Chaeri Wardhana or Wawan will be held. After twice failing to comply with the summons as a witness, artist Irwansyah is confirmed to attend the trial.

"Yes, it's true, tomorrow (Irwansyah) is called as a witness. As a citizen, because requested by the prosecutor of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), whether he wants it or not, he must attend," said Muhammad Zakir Rasyidin, Irwansyah's legal counsel, when contacted by phone on Wednesday (27/5/2020).

1. Testimony of an Old Case

Several local celebrities have been summoned as witnesses in the case involving the sister of former governor of Banten, Ratu Atut Chosiyah. Before Irwansyah, there were Jennifer Dunn and singer Rebecca Reijman.

"Their testimony is related to an old case, which happened around 2014-2015. Regarding the specific questions, they can be asked during the trial," explained Zakir.

2. Health Protocol

Previously, Irwansyah did not comply with the prosecutor's summons for several reasons. However, now he is ready while ensuring the completeness of health protocols to protect against the corona virus.

"He was summoned twice but couldn't attend due to the COVID pandemic, so he has sent a letter and requested to reschedule. (Now) there is actually no problem (concerning exposure). He still follows the health protocol, wears a mask, and uses hand sanitizer. With those considerations, he is willing to attend," he added.
