Didit Hediprasetyo is the son of the prospective presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto, who has a brilliant career as a designer from Indonesia and has succeeded in the international scene. As reported by Prestige, Didit admitted that he initially did not want to pursue fashion design seriously. However, as time went on, Didit realized that it was the creative process that kept him motivated and helped him get through even the toughest days.

"But I decided that the creative process is what makes me happy. It's what makes me enjoy my days and keeps me going," said Didit.

He also added, "Just take it easy. My life is not for the creative process, but the other way around. I think if I risk my life for it, then I will suffer."

Didit is known for having a high imagination regardless of his clothing works that appear simple and elegant. As reported by ELLE, during his creative process, Didit emphasizes the narrative factor as an essential touch in his clothing works.

“I always start a collection with a narrative. Usually starting from a district in a city, like Ubud in Bali, Kyoto in Japan, Brooklyn in New York, Tuileries in Paris, or a desert in Morocco,” said Didit as quoted from ELLE.

Criticism and comments always come regardless of the form of his work, including as a fashion designer. His successful career can be seen from his professional way of responding to various criticisms he receives. Instead of feeling down, Didit chooses not to be disturbed by it and considers criticism as one of his processes to grow. 

As reported by ELLE, Didit quoted one of his favorite quotes “Whether you pushed me or pulled me, drained me or fueled me, stayed by my side or left me, you are part of my growth, and I thank you. This is one of the best quotes I have ever received,” said Didit.

4. Message for Young Designers

Quoted from Prestige, Didit advises that, to become a young designer, one must be able to determine their own vision and not follow someone else's path. 

"I think what works for me may not work for others, and vice versa, because I tried it and failed," said Didit.

Didit also added,"I realize that everyone, of course, has to find their own way, their own path. I think when you copy someone else's path and story, you will definitely get lost. In the end, you have to express your own voice, so my only advice is to visualize your own vision within yourself."
