Rio accepted an offer to star in the soap opera JEJAK DUKA DIANDRA.
In an online interview, Rio revealed his reasons for being willing to return to that busy shooting routine. One of the main factors is his emotional bond with SCTV, the TV station where he built his career in the entertainment world.
"Because I can say that I grew up in the entertainment world at SCTV, besides in soap operas, there are also many FTVs," explained Rio Dewanto when asked about his comeback reason, Thursday (08/01/2026).

In addition to the nostalgia factor, Rio is also attracted to the script and the array of actors involved. He feels challenged by the relentless story conflicts and the character of Dimitri, who has emotional depth. Dimitri is portrayed as someone who undergoes drastic changes due to deep disappointment.
"It’s quite human when someone is disappointed, when they feel belittled, they can definitely change. Being imprisoned by our own feelings feels really unpleasant," Rio explained as he delved into his role.
The presence of Michelle Ziudith and Baiti Syaghaf as co-stars is also a special attraction for Rio. The chemistry that has long been built with Michelle is hoped to bring life to this soap opera.
Rio also touched on the technical challenges in shooting stripping. He has to be able to adapt quickly to change the character's emotions in a short time, from sad to angry or vice versa.
"In a short time, you have to switch, whether it’s sad or angry. So that’s the fun part for me," he added.
Although the work rhythm is exhausting, Rio admits to enjoying every process. He hopes that his latest work will be well received by the public and heal the longing of fans who want to see him on screen every day.
