Vanessa and Bibi's Family Fighting for Custody of Gala Sky, Kak Seto Intervenes

Kapanlagi.com - After Vanessa Angel and Bibi Andriansyah passed away, both families have applied for custody of Gala Sky Andriansyah. Vanessa's father, Doddy Sudrajat, applied for custody at the Central Jakarta Court, while Bibi's father, Faisal, applied for custody at the West Jakarta Court.

It was widely reported that Bibi's family has been appointed as the custodian of Gala. However, the process in the court where both families applied for custody is still ongoing and this has the potential to cause conflict.

This case has finally caught the attention of Kak Seto. This psychologist and child observer expressed some interesting things when discussing Gala.

"Indeed, the best thing is for the child to be raised in a family. Of course, the first option is the closest family members. Whether it's grandparents, uncles, or aunts. But if there are none, then it is the responsibility of the state. There are child protection shelters," said Kak Seto to KapanLagi.com, Friday (19/11).

Because there is a potential dispute and now the process is ongoing in court, Kak Seto is trying to mediate. Because this could have a negative impact on Gala in the future.

"It needs to be mediated whether by the Ministry of Social Affairs or the Court, and so on. It means that everyone is requested to prioritize the best interests of the child. Maybe the child can also be seen, of course, if possible involving professional experts, psychologists. Please make sure the child is not in a conflict zone. There needs to be a mediator who can bridge between these 2 families. Even we from LPAI, for the sake of Gala's interests, we are ready to become mediators," he explained.

Furthermore, Kak Seto hopes that Gala does not feel pressured. Even though he is still a toddler, he can already feel the pressure from his surroundings.

"So we will try to intervene quickly to handle this case. We don't want Gala, who has already lost both of his parents, to be in a situation of conflict or pressure. Because this is violence against a child, which may not cause physical harm but can hurt their heart. We hope both families can do something best for the child," said the man who still looks young.

Kak Seto is also worried that if the conflict continues, Gala's psychological well-being will be disturbed. "Of course, the child will be confused about loving their father's family or their mother's family. Moreover, I think both the father and mother's families still maintain a warm and affectionate atmosphere. We don't want these deceased parents to ruin the beautiful atmosphere that has been built. What is important now is the maturity of both sides of the family. So please discuss it calmly," he concluded.
