Venna Melinda Talks About Being a Mother-in-Law and Hopes for Her Partner Athalla: Must Make Athalla Diligent in Praying

In her conversation with her second son, Athalla Naufal, Venna expressed that she would be a good mother-in-law and would never forbid her children's potential partners, as long as they have some important principles.

"Very good, mom never forbids. But if there are certain principles, then the partner must be someone who makes Athalla diligent in praying, who makes the family more solid, not distancing away," said Venna when met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, Tuesday (4/2/2025).

1. Athalla Says Mom Gives Fit and Proper Test

Although Venna is known for her warmth and kindness, Venna's second son, Athalla, mentioned that there are times when his mother gives a 'fit and proper test' to potential partners. One such instance occurred when Venna assessed one of Athalla's ex-girlfriends via videocall.

"Athalla used to have an ex, right? Then mom thought she wasn't that pretty, so she videocalls, and my ex is next to me, she doesn't know, right? I speaker, and then mom says, 'i>Dikenalin cewek yang lebih cantik,'" Athalla recounted while laughing.

Venna, upon hearing the story, immediately clarified that she never commented on the physical appearance of Athalla's partners. "I never said anything about being prettier, oh Athalla likes to exaggerate," Venna said jokingly.

However, despite the funny incident, Athalla understands his mother's good intentions. Venna only wants her son to find the best partner who supports his life and happiness.

"Athalla is mischievous, he talks but on speaker, who knows," Venna said while laughing. Meanwhile, Athalla explained that there was no bad intention from his mother and stated that she always wants the best for him.

Furthermore, Athalla also added that for the future relationship, what is most important for Venna is a partner who can make her happy and loves her mother.

"Well, we don't know if he would say that next to her in the car, right?" he added. "Anyway, that's it, surely the mother intends for her child to get the best," said Athalla.

3. Athalla on a Match for His Mother

Not only talking about future romance, during the occasion Athalla was also asked about the criteria for a partner he wants for his mother. Jokingly, Athalla responded that the most important thing is a partner who can make Venna happy.

"For me, the important thing is that the car is not like flinstone where you have to use your feet to drive, just kidding," said Athalla while laughing.

More seriously, Athalla stated that he only wants his mother to be happy, and regarding material matters, he feels that Venna is already quite independent and well-off. "For me, the important thing is to make Mama happy, and that he loves Mama. After all, the material comes from Mama," concluded Athalla.
