Verrell Bramasta's feelings were mixed when he found out that Venna Melinda, his mother, experienced domestic violence (DV) allegedly committed by his stepfather, Ferry Irawan. In fact, he was so shocked that this 26-year-old man even had the thought of immediately beating Ferry Irawan.
"I can't say anything. At first, I was shocked, traumatized, you know. If there's no law in this world, I feel like hitting," said Verrell Bramasta when met in the Ciganjur area, South Jakarta, on Thursday (12/1/2023).
After thinking clearly, Verrel let go of his anger and immediately rushed from Japan to Surabaya to visit Venna Melinda.
"But we can't do that. We can't respond to evil with evil. What Papa (Ivan Fadilla) said is right, the most important thing is to think about your mom first. So that's what I did. I put aside my emotions, anger or whatever, what matters is mom first," he said.
Verrel admitted that he was deeply hurt by what his stepfather did. Especially remembering Ferry Irawan's clear promise before marrying Venna Melinda.
"It's devastating, really what can I say. When they got married, Uncle Ferry promised to take care of mom, never to leave mom in any condition. Not to hurt mom. It's just sad to remember that," Verrell said.
Now the rice has turned into porridge, and because of that incident, Venna Melinda has also reported Ferry Irawan to the authorities. Verrel will focus on entertaining his mother to help her overcome the trauma she experienced.
"For the past two days, I've been really with my mom, wanting to make her happy. We talk, watch movies, eat together. Because when my mom called me, she asked, 'Brother, please accompany me, I feel lonely.' So that's what I did as a child, to uplift my mom's spirit," he concluded.
As reported, on Sunday, January 8, 2023, Venna Melinda reported Ferry Irawan to the Kediri Kota Police Resort for alleged domestic violence. One day later, the case was transferred to the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of East Java Regional Police.
Venna admitted to receiving rough treatment from Ferry Irawan while staying at a hotel in Kediri, East Java. This incident caused Venna Melinda's nose to bleed, and it was not the first time Venna Melinda experienced such an incident.
