Want to Try Something New, Iis Dahlia Raps in the Song 'Viral'

Unlike Iis Dahlia's usual mellow songs. Now, she tries to step out of her comfort zone by singing a song with a more upbeat rhythm. Not only that, in this song she also shows her rapping skills.

"So actually, at first I wanted to collaborate with a DJ or a rapper. This song is a house music genre. We have chosen young rappers, but once I entered the room (the Producer said) it's just me," said Iis Dahlia during a press conference via Zoom, Friday (26/6).

1. Learn Rap Self-Taught

For this song, Iis Dahlia admitted to learning rap self-taught. Despite that, she is grateful because the results turned out to be quite satisfying.

"Just self-taught. So I just tried it out," said Iis Dahlia. 

Once she entered the music arranger studio, she was satisfied, the composer (of the song) was also satisfied, so in the end it turns out I can do it. The rap is not too complicated, not as tight as Iwa K or Denada's rap. So it's a kind of spoiled rap," said Iis Dahlia.

2. Not Willing to Stop Learning

Iis Dahlia also feels happy when she is challenged to rap in this song. Even though she is not young anymore, she is not willing to stop learning to try new things that are more modern.

"I am the type of person who doesn't want to stop learning, always trying new things. So for me, it's a challenge. If there's someone challenging me, I'm actually excited. Hopefully, this is something new for me, the music is young, everything is up-to-date even though the singer is old. Keeping up with the times," she concluded.
