A domestic worker named Herawati has expressed her readiness to close the chapter of legal conflict with her employer, Erin Wartia. The woman, who has only been working for 28 days, is willing to forgive as long as her basic rights are fulfilled.
Herawati feels her dignity has been hurt after the conflict surfaced publicly through various social media platforms. However, she admits to still having empathy as a fellow human and a mother to open the door to forgiveness.
"Yes, actually I am willing to forgive, the important thing is there is good intention from their side, then my rights should be returned," said Herawati when met in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, Thursday (6/4/2026).
The woman who is currently burdened with trauma detailed several of her personal belongings that are still held at the artist's residence. She desperately needsthose items to communicate again with her beloved child.
"What I want is my rights, like my cellphone, my salary for 28 days, and my clothes, my wallet is still there too," she said.
This case becomes more complicated due to allegations of minor assault experienced by Herawati while still working there. This social conflict then led to mutual reports at the South Jakarta Police involving the labor agency.
Herawati dismissed the notion that her decision to add to her legal team was an attempt to show strength. She just wanted to ensure that the legal process was transparent and the true facts could be revealed quickly.
"No, it’s not to compete in strength, Miss. Let’s just follow the legal process," she asserted.
In addition to material matters, the housekeeper also demanded a public apology from the employer. She hopes that similar incidents will nothappen again to other domestic workers in the future."Yes, an apology from Mrs. Erin, and please don’t repeat it again," she emphasized.
