CINTA YANG TAK SEDERHANA tells the story of a young man named Raja (Erdin Werdrayana) who comes from a wealthy family and has a grandfather who is also known as a successful entrepreneur. Raja has a life of excess. His life is surrounded by complete facilities provided by his parents and he also receives unparalleled love. 

However, the perfection of Raja's life is misused by him. All these privileges make Raja live as he pleases and indulge himself. As he gets older, Raja falls in love with a woman from a humble family named Indah (Dannia Salsabilla). This woman always prioritizes her mother. To become the backbone of the family, she is willing to become a racer in order to earn money for her mother's recovery. 

Indah's different economic background from Raja's surely invites rejection from Raja's family. For them, Indah is not equal to the King. Therefore, the King is finally matched with Nasya (Ise Irish), the granddaughter of a wealthy business friend. However, it turns out that Nasya's love story with the King is not as smooth as expected. There is a man named Adi (Jeremie Moeremans) who likes Nasya, but he is also aware that they come from different social classes.
