Zayn affirmed that his perspective has not changed. He feels that his understanding of love continues to evolve. According to him, feelings that were once believed to be love might be understood differently as one matures.

"Yes. Because my understanding of love is always evolving. At that time I may have thought it was love, but as I grew older I realized it might not be. It might just be lust, or perhaps other feelings. I don't feel that it was love," he said.

"Honestly, and I want to emphasize this, I will always love G, because she is the reason my child is in this world and I have great respect for her. I will always love her, but I don’t know if I ever fell in love with her," Zayn continued.
