"They call it pasty, what's pasty? It's Hetty's pastel. It's big when Bunda makes it, because the filling is delicious too, there's carrots, potatoes, minced meat, glass noodles, so that's the food the kids miss that Bunda makes by hand," Hetty said.

Hetty herself said that at her current age, it is not easy to make pastel fritters that her children like. In fact, making the fritters is a struggle because it takes at least 4 hours to be completely done

According to Hetty's second child, Afifah Qamariah, her mother's homemade pastel is indeed different from the ones sold by others. In fact, if asked to choose between expensive pastel sold in restaurants, her mother's homemade pastel is still the most delicious.

"Anyway, once you've tried it, you'll be hooked, it's really delicious because it has the characteristic taste of the kindergarten, the taste of mother's cooking, that's it," Afifah Qamariah concluded.
