"I definitely agree, because no matter what, we must still uphold our culture even though we can say that times are becoming more advanced and modern," said Alfin Habib on one occasion.

Alfin Habib, who is also skilled in playing the violin, does not want future generations to be more familiar with foreign cultures than their own culture.

Although traditional clothing cannot be worn in all daily activities, Alfin Habib said that culture, including traditional clothing, should be introduced from an early age, during school years.

"We can utilize traditional fabrics from the region to create clothing that can be used in daily life according to our needs. For example, shirts or head coverings, which can be made from batik or songket fabrics or other traditional regional fabrics," continued Alfin Habib.

As a performer, Alfin Habib always wears traditional Malay clothing according to the ethnic group in his hometown, North Sumatra. "So far, when performing, Habib uses costumes that have a Malay cultural influence," he said.

"If for daily life sometimes I wear T-shirts or shirts made from typical Medan batik or tengkuluk," he concluded.

Alfin Habib appeared in the D'Academy Season Three event in 2016. He performed in a duet format called Duo Alfin with his partner named Alfin Khairi.

Long time no hear, Alfin Habib still receives many off-air jobs by singing dangdut or Malay songs. Alfin admits that he is now starting to introduce Malay customs through his stage costumes.
