Already Starred in Dozens of Film Titles, Rhoma Irama Doesn't Want to Be Called an Actor

Although he has starred in dozens of film titles, Rhoma apparently doesn't want to be called an actor. He conveyed this after receiving a special award from the Indonesian Movie Actors Awards 2020.

"Alhamdulillah, I thank the Indonesian Movie Actors Awards for giving me an award as, I am not an actor, but let's say a dedicated film player like that," said Rhoma Irama in Jakarta recently.

1. Not Separated from the Role of Involved People

For Rhoma, the awards he received cannot be separated from the role of the people involved in the films he starred in.

"I accept this as a collective effort with filmmakers. Earlier, I expressed that those who worked with me, directors, or other filmmakers who have preceded me into the presence of Allah SWT, with this award, I pray that they all find a rightful place in the sight of Allah SWT," he said.

2. Choose to Act in FTV

Furthermore, Rhoma Irama, who is now 73 years old, said he still has the desire to star in feature films. However, after SAJADAH KA'BAH (2011), he still chooses to actively act in FTV.

"The last time I starred in a feature film was Sajadah Ka'bah. There are plans for a feature film, but for now, it's FTV," he said.
